Correct print settings and storage methods help maintain the print quality and longevity of matte photo paper.
Correct print settings and storage methods help maintain the print quality and longevity of matte photo paper.
Print Settings
When using matte photo paper, select the appropriate media type (such as “Matte Paper” or “Heavyweight Textured Paper”) in your printer driver. This helps adjust ink coverage and drying time to prevent ink buildup or bleeding.
Handling Precautions
When handling the paper, hold it by the edges to prevent skin oils from contaminating the coating.
After printing, let the paper sit for a moment to allow the ink to dry completely before stacking or mounting.
Avoid folding or scratching the surface to prevent creases.
Storage Conditions
Unused photo paper should be stored in its original sealed packaging in a cool, dry, and dark place. For printed photos, it is recommended to place them in acid-free photo albums or separate them with neutral-pH cardstock to minimize exposure to air and light.
With proper use and care, matte photo paper can maintain image clarity and texture for a long time.
